She was also referred to “Mexican Madonna,” because of her style of clothing and her skilled dance moves. Selena started dancing as a young child. Her first career started within her family band at the age of 10. The name of the band was “Selena Y Los Dinos.” Her father, Abraham produced the band. They played in different parts of Texas.

Achievements

As one of her golden awards, Selena was voted “Best Female Vocalist of the year,” and “Performer of the Year.” Her album “Ven Conmigo,” sold 500,000 copies in the year 1990 achieving the first golden awards status.
